While traveling across Arizona, we had the opportunity to take a day and play a round of golf, at the only public golf course to be found in Flagstaff Arizona. We were able to secure a tee time at 10AM on this day and we were paired with a couple of very nice ladies. One of the ladies was a longtime resident of Flagstaff and the other, her friend was a “snow bird from Phoenix”. Although they only played the first 9 holes, they were a pleasure and helped us understand the trouble from the tee to green. After checking out the course online, I was excited to see how the real thing compared to the flyover that is found on the course’s website. Needless to say, I was happy to find that the course was in excellent condition, especially for this time of the year. The greens were a little slow, but in very good shape and rolled smooth. The fairways were wide enough to be receptive of a fade, or a draw. The staff is the golf shop were respectful and fairly no nonsense, and there was plenty of items to purchase that could be a souvenir of your time spent at the course. The grounds crew, cart crew, and marshal were all there to help and were friendly. After the round, we took the time to eat at the Oakmont Restaurant that is located on sight. The food and service was excellent. Overall, the experience at the Continental Golf Course was fantastic and this is a course I will play again in the future and recommend to friends.
