On Tuesday December 11, 2025 I was invited to play a little winter golf at Langdon Farms in Aurora Oregon. It has been raining in northwest Oregon over the last few days (go figure), however, on this day there was no rain. It was cold, teeβd off it was around 38 degrees and it warmed up to roughly 40 degrees when we reached the back nine. One thing you can say about Langdon Farms, is that the course drains well, so the course is very playable in the winter. Additionally, their breakfast at the Langdon Grill is a great way to start your day. They have a good breakfast menu, including items that you can take to the course with you, i.e. a breakfast sandwich or burrito, but on this cold day I began with a southern tradition of biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. It is definitely a meal that will stay with you throughout your round π. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and engaging. After breakfast I began preparing for the round. The course has a driving range, but I don’t usually use it as you hit off of mats. They have two greens to practice putting, one of which you can also practice chipping if so desired. Both of these greens are in great shape and the one next to the first tee box mimics the greens on the course. The pro shop/check-in area is very small, but they get you in and out quickly and are very cordial. When getting to the first tee box, you will be met by a very nice starter who will check you in and advise you when to tee off to begin the round.
Overall, it was a great round of golf and a course that I will play many times going forward, especially if it has been raining due to the course having sufficient drain systems to keep the course playable. Have fun.
